The Rhoades Cycling Team in Indianola, August, 2004.
From left to right: Steve (coach), Brenda, Julie, Tracy, Dhyana,
me, Sally, Mike. That day we rode 51 miles at an average of 17 mph
(with some impressive hills along the way). |

It seems that I change my workplace
radically every few months. Here's one arrangement. In the back corner
on the left is one of my pieces, a dress called "Prism." |
 |
What do you do when you have a shelves full of
gorgeous merino wool? My answer was to knit thousands of yards of
bi-colored tape, braid it, and coil into a "rag rug." Here I'm laying
it out in our back yard in Suquamish. |

When Jennifer Louden and I led a retreat at
Breitenbush called "Surfing the Edge of the Known," I couldn't resist
the opportunity to dress the part. So I donned Hawiian print capris,
my fins, the gloves to my wetsuit, and my goggles. Oh - the baseball
cap is a souvenir from work I did with NASA several years ago. It
says, "Next stop Mars." |

Miles #1 (The Charming Prince) and
Miles #2 (my stepson). Miles #2, wife Lis, and grandkids Ellie and
Dill took us sailing to celebrate our Libra birthdays. |

Here he is, The Charming Prince,
working on a modest palace for the hens. |

The
Bad Princesses celebrate our
coach's birthday. In the foreground are Steve Rhoades (coach), me,
and Sally. |

One of my favorite "surfing" pics. I don't actually
surf (but doesn't it sound cool?). What I do is paddle on my big
red board. |

Another view of the office
with me at the helm. Though
I aspire to keep a Zen desk, sometimes I don't quite get there. |

I came across this photo as I was coming out
of a dark and difficult time. It was taken on the beach at Santa
Monica when I was 5 years old. My first thought upon seeing it was, "My
God! She didn't know that it's not nice to like yourself too much." |
| This must have been taken in 2001, when our grandson, Dillon, was
a year old. |
|
I
put it in a frame and have kept it on my desk ever since to remind
me that we bless the world when we let ourselves shine. |
