SMALL FOR YOU?

Are you barely getting by because you don't know how to market your work?

Do you sometimes fear that you might never truly thrive in your chosen field?

Do you long to share your gifts with the world but hold back for fear of seeming shallow or pushy?

Are you a lifelong learner committed to transformation and personal growth?

"Authentic Promotion will inspire you to cast a fresh eye on your business practices... [It] provides not only the tools and clarity to achieve wealth, but also the support needed to achieve it."  Jane Pollak, Author of Soul Proprietor: 101 Lessons from a Lifestyle Entrepreneur, JanePollak.com

If so, you can succeed in business by engaging your mind, body, and soul in simple yet profoundly effective evolutionary practices."

Authentic Promotion

Authentic Promotion is a comprehensive small business marketing resource that turns marketing and promotion into a path of increasing self-awareness, authenticity, and right livelihood. The program consists of a detailed text (182 pages) and 12 recorded classes that show you how to achieve authentic prosperity, taking you step by step through the new ways of thinking and being, so you can promote your work with integrity and authenticity.

"I've gotten so much more intentional about my marketing. My belief prior to your class was 'do a good job and they will find you' style of marketing... When 'they' didn't find me I felt I wasn't good enough. You helped me to question that and then really work on figuring out what I wanted to do about it." Alvah Parker,  asparker.com

The Story of Authentic Promotion

For much of my life I felt that money wasn't important or nice, and I was uncomfortable about concentrating on it. I also believed that self promotion or talking yourself up was tacky. Though I was ambitious about what I wanted to achieve and contribute, I was shy about asking for the recognition and pay I needed to live up to my potential. I worked very hard for modest pay. In 1988 I went to work for myself, and for eight years I worked even harder for even less.

I realized on some level that I was a co-conspirator in my genteel poverty, but I didn't know what to do about it. I tried affirmations. I tried visualization. I tried positive thinking. I tried working longer and harder. Nothing worked, or at least not for long. I felt like a failure for not earning more and being so stuck.

But then I began to notice how I showed up in connection with business & marketing, my own and that of others. I became aware of the moods, the physical disposition, attitudes, and expectations that shaped my interactions with clients, with colleagues, with other businesses, and with the marketplace. Bit by bit, I discovered the underlying misconceptions that were keeping me small.

"Molly helped me understand how to create large spaces in my life for all the cool things I've always wanted to do. I'm no longer hamstrung by small thoughts (at least most of the time)...Thanks a million, Molly!" Cymber Quinn, president. Ink Communications, Corp., inktc.com

Identifying these misconceptions was only the beginning. My next step was to find and "road test" practical ways to shift my business paradigm from survival to thrival, from hoodwinking to helping. Cosmetic fixes could not help. It was no time for happy talk or magical thinking. I sought a path that would engage and challenge my entire being, mind, body, heart, and soul in building my business.

I found it. Over a period of years I learned how my habits of mind, emotion, and body generated the results I was getting, and (with a great deal of trial and error) I devised or adapted practices from such diverse fields as martial arts, linguistics, and emotional intelligence to produce a dramatic paradigm shift.

The journey took 12 years. In the end, I had a theory of evolutionary small business marketing and specific ways to connect with the marketplace in a soulful, heartfelt, authentic way that reaches clients and buyers who fit "just right". After that, making a good living was a natural consequence.

Today I enjoy a prosperity I couldn't imagine back then, a prosperity that allows me to live joyfully and authentically. To be specific, I've increased my average monthly income by a factor of ten, and it continues to grow while my workweek shrinks. Best of all, I love what I do, and I know I am making a significant contribution to the well being of others.

"I'm finding that this new approach is really working for me and is eliciting some great follow-up questions from the people I'm taking to. I feel better about what I'm doing that ever before (that's no exaggeration) because there's some focus and credibility attached to it. Many thanks again for all of your help." Molly GordonAuthentic Promotion takes you step-by-step through a vastly simpler journey than the one I took. Oh, you will still need to work -- and work hard -- but you won't need to wait 12 years for the results. You will be marketing your small business more authentically and effectively from the very first week.

Ask yourself:

Do you love your work but dread doing business?

Are you tongue tied when people ask you what you do? (Or do their eyes glaze over when you answer?)

Are you playing too small and earning too little?

If you answered "yes" to even one of these questions, imagine how things would change if you knew how to promote your work with dignity and conviction!

Authentic Promotion has been field-tested by hundreds of students who have successfully used it to grow and prosper. Here are some of their results:

  • A leadership consultant clarified his standards for "just right" clients, applied AP pricing strategies and sees his revenues double in 90 days.

  • A life coach goes to shopping malls for the sheer joy of beginning conversations with her elevator speech. She finds talking about her work so pleasant that she never has to worry about how she'll get new business. (And she's as comfortable with people who are not a good fit for her as she is with those who hire her on the spot.)

  • A painter learns a simple physical practice that dissolves her preoccupation with how people might react to her work. For the first time in her life, she feels grounded and confident when she shows her work instead of worrying that she is selling herself short.

  • A single mother earns a six-figure income in spite of the emotional upheaval of a painful divorce -- and she ended the year saner, happier, and more relaxed than she began it.

What results can you expect from using this self promotion and small business marketing resource?

  • You can look forward to promoting your work. (It is possible.)

  • You can become more vibrant, more authentic, more engaged in your life as well as your work, effortlessly attracting business.

  • You can find ways to promote your work that are practical, affordable, and enjoyable.

  • You can spend less time worrying about your business, get better results, and be proud of how you show up.

During the program, you will create a simple, do-able plan for promoting your work based on proven principles like these:

  • Effective marketing is showing up as a genuine, whole human being.

  • Effective marketing expresses and enhances your humanity and professional excellence.

Effective marketing is affordable, sustainable, and builds on your strengths and values.

  • Effective marketing is a path to prosperity that serves your higher purpose and evolves as you do.

  • Effective marketing is making a contribution.

  • Effective marketing creates a meaningful, purposeful context for your work.

When you complete the program, you will know:

  • How to talk with ease and conviction about your work... never be at a loss for words when they ask, "oh, what do you do?"

  • How to turn marketing frustrations into opportunities... so that your marketing always matches your style and values.

  • How to tap into your body's wisdom -- so you can step out with natural confidence and commitment.

  • How to create your own "Just Right" Client Profile to attract clients who will value your work... Imagine the word-of-mouth advertising you will get from attracting "natural fans" to your work!

  • How to establish a reputation that aligns with who you really are... so that the right clients come to you for the right services at the right price.

  • How to develop your niche marketing strategy and define an expansive market niche that will allow you to express all of your skills and strengths while focusing your marketing for maximum results.

  • How to avoid the emotional wear and tear that depletes your energy by adopting simple strategies that make marketing as routine--and as effective--as brushing your teeth.

  • Integrated practices that will generate the momentum you need to achieve authentic success and the focus you need to stay on track.
"I've been putting myself 'out there' for prospective clients more... This is a HUGE, ENORMOUS, TREMENDOUS, STUPENDOUS step for me... It's truly eye-opening and life-changing." Vicki Manning, Coach, Organized by Design, ThePaperTiger.com/vicki_manning.htm

What's all that worth?

Copywriting experts say I should spell it out for you, so I will. (By the way, it's scary for me to write this sales stuff -- and it's part of my ongoing learning process. One of the things we'll be looking at in the program is how to stretch our comfort zones, risking coming on too strong yet coming from an authentic desire to connect rather than to persuade.)

At my hourly rate of $250 it would cost you $4,500 just for the class time. (Not bad for someone who only eight years ago quailed at the idea of charging $35 an hour!) The listserv support is easily worth $375 per week; if you participate for just 12 weeks that's another $4,500. (By the way, you can use the listserv for as long as you like; there is no time limit.) The textbook, workbook, and class outlines are valued at $37, $19, and $13, respectively. The bonus CDs retail for $39.00 each.

That comes to $9,225!

I know. It sounds impressive, but we both know that it's not the best way to calculate the value of buying this program. Instead, I suggest you ask yourself these questions:

  • How would your life change if you were charging and getting what you are worth?

  • What contributions could you make when you feel confident about your value, your boundaries, and your capacity to serve?

  • What will you accomplish when you have can rely on yourself to maintain focus, energy, and momentum?

  • What is the value of embodying your gifts in a way that is virtually irresistible to the people you can best serve?

  • Where else (besides your small business marketing) will you benefit from knowing how to identify and reliably dissolve blocks to material and spiritual growth?

What's the value to you of integrating your livelihood with your personal evolution?

What are those results worth to you?

"Molly, thank you for all the wonderful breaks I can take from running my own business when I read your Authentic Promotion ezine, so full of great pragmatic advice and thoughts - just what I need and so uplifting!" ~ Jackie Tod, Partner RT&A, The Amrop Hever Group - Paris

"Molly hits the nail on the head every time with her newsletter. As an artist, there is always struggle between the making of work and the selling/marketing of product. Molly Gordon hangs it out there for all to see and follow by example. She is a teacher of authenticity, knowing yourself, feeding your business and thriving as an entrepreneur. She is a North Star in my humble opinion. I HIGHLY recommend and encourage everyone to sign up for her newsletter and check out all she has to offer on her many links."

"To be honest, I first subscribed because a friend of mine was a client of yours, and since I was starting my coaching biz, she said - subscribe, her stuff is great (and still is - a great model of professionalism). So I subscribed to see what a coaches’ ezine looked like, but I stay because I respect your opinion and views & it challenges me personally. You present things in no nonsense easy to understand, yet challenging (on a deeper level) way. My perceptions around the power of collaboration have shifted (for the better!) I have also gotten much more comfortable with the idea of blending discernment and a spiritual bent to everyday concepts.

The series on selling to your list has been of great benefit to me -- both the concepts & to see that even others struggled with this. Now I know that authentic marketing is the only way, at least for me.

I'd highly recommend your ezine to all biz owners who are afraid to sell."

"Before I subscribed, I thought Molly’s ezine was similar to some other art marketing e-newsletter. But it does more, supporting my vision of my life as a business owner and artist and making me feel as if I'm on the right track. I enjoy it because it is well written and thoughtful. The advice given so often supports what I am currently thinking about or dealing with!"

"What I like most about the Authentic Promotion ezine is its rich content always close to reality. Each and every issue is full of practical advice & new ideas. Any entrepreneur or freelancer will certainly benefit from becoming a reader!"

"I found your website early on and related to who you were as a person, how you represented yourself. Also your interest in consciousness, the outdoors, and authenticity.
I realize that the biggest benefit I get from reading your ezine it is connection to someone in the field who makes sense to me. Other than that it is bits of great information, but information doesn't so much thrill me anymore. So, I guess you feel like an old friend even if we don't know each other and you don't know me at all. You build great relationship ;-) We seem to be on parallel paths. You don't overwhelm me with email beyond the ezine. You feel authentic.
I heartily recommend your ezine to women entrepreneurs with spiritual and environmental awareness who want to market their businesses without compromising their sense of who they are at their core."
