How
do you skillfully create wealth without making money the center of your life?
(Is it possible to be confident, competent, and creative in your relationship with money?)
If you’re reading this, odds
are you didn't decide to work for yourself to get rich. You wanted to do meaningful work. You were probably looking for things like creative freedom, flexibility, a chance to be your own boss, more time for your family and friends.
But even though you're not in it for the money, money issues may be keeping you awake at night. Even though your humanity is more important than your bank account, you hate living with the confusion, anxiety, and powerlessness around money.
You long to feel secure in your ability to create wealth so that you can take care of yourself and your family and serve others.
Most of us aren't born with a healthy relationship to money
Your relationship with money began when you were very small. When you didn't have an adult's mental and emotional capacity to question and develop it. And most of us are stuck with childhood notions of what it means to be truly wealthy.
Until we decide to be conscious and committed to a healthy relatonship with money.
Because no matter how you grew up, you can have a healthy relationship with money today. And you don't have to sacrifice your values, sell your soul, or work yourself to the bone to do it.
You can have a relationship where you feel like you can rely on money to be there and you can rely on yourself to be a good partner. A relationship that's a safe
haven where can you be yourself. One that's a source of
inspiration and encouragement. Even one that invites you to grow in every dimension of your life.
A great relationship
takes three things.
1. Possibility
Great relationships give both parties a sense of possibility, of new horizons and adventure. If you don't feel that sense of possibility in your relationship with money, you'll resist or resent the routine tasks that keep the relationship healthy. Keeping track of where money comes from and where it goes feels like a burden or a penance. But it doesn't have to be that way.
When you reclaim possibility, you naturally want to know how things stand. It's exciting to see how things change as you make and keep your financial commitments. You experience a new level of self respect and self confidence.
2. Commitment
Great relationships are built on two kinds of commitment: commitment to each other and commitment to a shared vision. These commitment provide the sense of safety that anchors all those possibilities. Without commitment, dreams tend to float just beyond reach and getting what you want always feels just a bit too hard.
3. Forgiveness
Nobody gets everything right all the time. Disappointments and misunderstandings can sink a relationship unless you really understand and practice the art of forgiveness. When you bring mature forgiveness to your relationship with money you get a brand new start, free of the family dramas, cultural baggage, and mistakes of the past.
[Authentic Wealth] is the best investment I have made
so far with great return...

Introducing: Authentic Wealth, Write a new money story
Authentic Wealth is a confidential, highly interactive, "tele-retreat" that will
reshape your relationship with money from the inside out.
Think of it as relationship
transformation for your financial life. You'll learn where
money problems come from (get ready to be surprised) and what works to
bring clarity, humanity, and vision to your dealings with money. You'll connect with money on all levels: spiritual, emotional,
material, and mental, laying the groundwork for a vibrant and
meaningful relationship.
Most of all, you will achieve peace of mind and the conviction that you can be a creator in your financial life.

Marge Hulburt, Laurel, MD, USA |
What you can expect to gain from Authentic Wealth
- Clarity about what money is, how it enters your life, and how you can use it
with dignity, humanity, and grace.
- A personal vision of lifelong wealth that you can believe in and be committed to.
- Simple
tools to get and keep your financial life in order no
matter what side of your brain you use.
- A sense of happy
anticipation about money matters.
- The ability to talk
about
money with loved ones, clients, and vendors with
confidence and ease.
What
you'll learn in Authentic Wealth
Module 1: Origins
Almost every negative emotion boils
down to
fear, and fear is almost always rooted in ignorance. Financial freedom begins when you shine a light on old (often hurtful) stories about money. It grows as you begin to see possibilities that those stories had concealed.
Together we'll explore with love and rigor:
- Your
personal money history. You'll be
guided through a respectful process of getting your money story on
paper where you can work with it instead of being controlled by it.
- Authentic
Wealth. What would it be to
feel good about money? How money can express your life purpose, enrich
your human interactions, and nurture living systems.
- Reclaiming
the dream of
wealth. You'll make a guided vision quest
and open to wider sources of inspiration,
support, and opportunity.
- The Money Date. From the very first week you'll practice a new way of relating to money.
Module 2: Reclaim Your Values
Money problems can leave you
feeling marginalized and "less than." This module helps you restore the balance
of power in your financial life so you'll be able to generate new financial freedom with
clarity and confidence.
- Your
money inventory. I and your fellow retreatants will hold you in a web of compassionate, capable support as you take a simple, but deep, deep financial
inventory. When it's done, you'll experience a greater degree of
integrity and freedom around money than you may have thought possible.
Undoing the chains of resignation and resentment. Find out how resignation and resentment keep you broke. Then find out how to change that so you can write a new money story.
- Freeing peaceful, creative ambition. Explore your beliefs about ambition, especially financial ambition. Find your unique vision of financial freedom.
- It's all connected. You know money is connected to your self-esteem, security, and relationships. Now you can find out exactly how it's connected so you can untangle the mess with grace.
Module 3: Ignite the Change
Have you ever thought you're just not cut out to understand money? In this module, you will learn ways
to understand and manage money no matter which side of your brain you
use.
- The trouble with abundance thinking. Why
abundance thinking hasn't solved your money problems (no, it's not your
fault).
- Into Action. Have you always suspected your money woes would go away if you could just get it together? This is your chance to test-drive new behaviors and make them your own.
- Radical Acceptance. Meaningful change begins with acceptance of what is. You'll experience The Work of Byron Katie as you make peace withfinancial reality. You will feel serene about your financial situation nomatter what it is, which gives you a platform from which you can change it.
- Retrieving the "fun" in dysfunction. Okay, so you've done money wrong. But you probably didn't set out with that intention. You'll unearth the good intentions behind the disasters so you can keep the good and discard the bad.

Module 4: Free Yourself from Money Dramas
Just past the mid-point of the tele-retreat, we'll devote an entire unit to drama conflict in our relationships with money. Don't worry; it's more fun than it sounds. (There's nothing quite as funny as a money drama once it's revealed.)
-
Five
dead-end money dramas. Learn to identify the dramas that
keep you unsatisfied or afraid and find out how to break the pattern.
-
Shadow theft. How you may be stealing from yourself and how to stop. It's simple when you know how.
-
The dreaded drama triangle. You'll learn a simple model of conflict that reveals how we get stuck in dead-end dramas. Then you'll learn an even cooler model for getting out of them. Yay!
-
Skillful
means. Experience how practicing gratitude lays the
foundation for miracles to
happen.
Module 5: Embrace Desire
Stretch your romantic muscles.
What would a fabulous relationship with money look like?
- The
spiritual function of desire. When
you understand this, you will be free to acknowledge your desires and
move toward them in good conscience.
- What
to do when you don't know which way
to go. When you have a model for making good decisions
with limited
input, you can act boldly without betraying your values or your
financial well being.

- How
to work with greed, envy, and fear. We all experience
these feelings. What matters is learning to keep them
from sabotaging your higher purpose. You don't have to be
perfect
to be wise or good.
- The
four elements of an effective vision. You know you're
supposed to visualize success. Sometimes it works; sometimes not. Find
out why and what to do about it.
|
Gaye Abbott, Middlebury, VT, USA |
Module 6: Cultivate Conscious Relationship
How long would your friends
hang
around if you treated them
like you treat money? Find out how to have a conscious
relationship with money so you can make skillful decisions and build
authentic wealth without
losing your moral compass, your good taste, or your self-respect.
-
Conscious
hellos. Stretch your receptivity muscles so money can flow freely into your life.
-
Conscious goodbyes. Learn how to spend
money without getting stressed out, resentful, or going
unconscious.
-
Conscious
conversations. Stay connected with yourself and others
when you talk about money;
using money to enhance rather than diminish your humanity.
-
The
body of conscious relationship. Your
money history is stored in your body. Recognize and gently reshape old
patterns.
Module 7: Keep Wealth Creation Alive
Have
you ever gotten all fired
up at a workshop only to lose focus and momentum after a few weeks?
Every relationship needs a source of renewal. This module shows you how
to build renewal into your financial life.
-
It
takes a village. Money literally has
no meaning outside of community. Strategies for growing a warm,
supportive network around your money relationship.
-
The
Money Spa:. Find out how to nurture your relationship over time.
-
Asking
for help. Knowing where you will
go and whom you will ask makes it much more likely that you'll reach
out sooner rather than later.
-
The
Last Word. Gratitude is the key to your financial future.
Now you can feel good
about
money
You don't have to become a penny
pincher or
a number cruncher. You can change your relationship with money in a
safe, confidential group of like-minded individuals by exercising your
imagination, learning new behaviors, and clearing up the clutter of
unexamined thoughts that have made money matters so painful.
Authentic Wealth will bring
clarity and humor to the toughest money problem: how to feel good and be competent
about earning it, asking for it, having it, and spending it.

But money is so private...
You may be thinking that you just couldn't bear to work on your relationship with money in a large group. Authentic Wealth is designed to protect your privacy while easing the burden of secrecy.
You see, when things aren't going well in a relationship, it's easy to confuse privacy with secrecy. You tend to shut down. You isolate. You think you'll get help when things aren't quite so messy. But keeping it all in makes the problems fester, and things just get worse.
To protect your privacy, you are always fully in charge of how much you share and when you share it. At the same time, through appropriate sharing in a confidential community, you will experience healing. Your feelings and history will be normalized.
You'll realize you are not aloneand that you can be competent, confident, and creative in your relationship with money.
Is
your relationship with money getting
better over time?
Like any relationship, your relationship with money needs loving, skillful attention. If you don't give it that attention, signals get crossed. Feelings get hurt. Resentment and fear set in.
When your relationship with money is in trouble, it's natural to respond with avoidance, blame (including self-blame), or denial. To sweep problems them under the rug or resort to band-aid solutions. But sooner or later, the issues come to the surface again, usually at a moment of crisis.
The time to address you relationship with money is now, before the crisis point. While you have the mental and emotional flexibility to dig into your relationship and sort things out.
When you have the resilience to create a new money story.
I've walked this road
For most of my life, my relationship with money was in the shadows. I was satisfied if I could pay my bills, and I always had just enough to get by. I kept my horizons limited so that I'd never be out of my comfort zone.
It was a small way to live.
As I grew in other areas of my life, I began to question all sorts of old stories and beliefs. My story about wealth was one of them. I brought money out of the shadows and learned how to have a healthy, creative relationship with it.
Now I earn six figures,
reliably. My heart is more open, because I'm more at ease in the world. I'm more creative, because financial worries aren't keeping my ideas small. And I'm making a
real difference in thousands of lives, lives I never touched when I was
shut down about my relationship with money.
If you are truly
committed to
working for yourself, please take care of your relationship with money. I know it can be tempting to put off dealing with money issues,
especially when you are starting out, but that's exactly when cleaning
up your relationship can do the most good.
And, if it feels right, I'd love for
you to
take care of your relationship with money by attending the Authentic
Wealth Tele-retreat.

[Because of Authentic Wealth] my entire life has opened up with possibilities and
opportunities...
Gaye Abbott, www.WildlyFreeWoman.com, USA |
"There is a vitality, a life force,
a
quickening that is translated through you into action,
and because
there is only one of you in all time,
this expression is unique.... It
is your business
to keep it yours, clearly and directly,
to
keep the channel
open.” Martha Graham
It takes money to keep
the
channel open, and it makes me nuts to think of all the
good people who will go out of business this year for lack of a good
relationship to money.
I
want everyone
who takes this class to complete it with confidence that they can have
a great relationship with money.
Obviously, I can't make
that
happen. But you can, and to support you in making the
most of this investment of your time and energy, I am offering
you this guarantee.
The "Life could be a dream" Guarantee
Do dreams come true? I
believe that they do, when they are in alignment with your true self
and you take modest, purposeful, ongoing action to bring them into
reality. In other words, making a dream come true requires commitment
to the dream and follow through.
I guarantee that Authentic Wealth will help
you realize your dream relationship with money, provided you do two
things.
- You attend or listen to at least 5 of the 7
teaching calls.
- You attend or listen to at least 5 of the 7 coaching calls.
- You do 70% of the exercises and practices in each module.
If you do these things, I believe your relationship with money will change profoundly. If it doesn't, I will refund 100% of your investment at the end of the retreat.
Have a question?
If
you have any doubt about
whether the program is right for you, please share it with me. If I can't help, perhaps I can suggest someone or something that can.
But please, don't let a flawed relationship with money keep you from
being and doing what only you can be and do.
